Movement disorder that results from degeneration of nerve cells in basal ganglia. Cause: Unknown Environmental factors may be key, especially undetected viruses

Possible causes: Viruses, immunologic reaction to virus, bacteria, trauma, autoimmunity, and genetics. Cause remains inconclusive
