2 NOV 2015 Bell Activity: Use the first few minutes to finish your Red Kayak worksheet for Chptrs 1-4. You will be using THE WORKSHEET to complete today’s quiz over chapters 1-4. Today we will be: determining if you understand chapters 1-4 determining if you understand how to cite quotations as evidence learning what happens in Chapter 5 & 6 of RK determining if you know how to spell the words in Unit 20.

TRANSITION TO QUIZ Clear your desk of everything except: your worksheet and a pen When you receive a copy of the quiz, 1. Write your correct heading at the top. 2. Put your pen down 3. Read through the quiz without marking anything.

This quiz is to determine a couple of things: 1. Do you understand what is happening in the novel. 2. Do you know how to use direct quotes as evidence. 3. Do you know how to quote and cite text correctly. 4. Did you complete your worksheet correctly. THIS QUIZ WILL BE USED IN BOTH THE LITERATURE GRADEBOOK & THE WRITING GRADEBOOK The grade that will go into the Literature gradebook will be based on your answers to the multiple choice questions and whether the quote supports your answers. The grade that will be go into the Writing gradebook will be based on how well you quote and cite text as evidence.

When you finish the quiz double check your heading staple your quiz to the front of the worksheet place both in the basket return to your seat to work on Vocabulary. Take out your Vocab List #1 and the glossary and write in the correct definition on your worksheet. If what your “What I think” has a definition that matches the correct definition, put a star next to the vocabulary word. These vocabulary words will be on Thursday’s Quiz over chapters 1-12.
