Prices of Natural Gas This graph shows that the prices in natural gas have drastically decreased within the last year, and will most likely level off, or slightly increase in the years to come, this is one benefit of natural gas.

The History of Natural Gas Around the years A.D. ‘eternal fires’ were recorded, this is the oldest record of natural gas known today. Around the years A.D. ‘eternal fires’ were recorded, this is the oldest record of natural gas known today. In 1821 in New York, William A. Hart drilled first well intentionally drilled to obtain natural gas. In 1821 in New York, William A. Hart drilled first well intentionally drilled to obtain natural gas. In 1885, Robert Bunsen invented a burner that mixed air with natural gas which we now call the Bunsen Burner. After World War II more natural gas pipelines were built to provide this form of energy in private homes. After World War II more natural gas pipelines were built to provide this form of energy in private homes.

How is natural gas obtained? Natural gas is a natural resource and comes directly from the earth. It must be drilled out of the earth and contained to be used efficiently. Pipelines and tanks help distribute and store it.

Refining natural gas Natural gas can be refined into these useful forms of gas: Natural gas can be refined into these useful forms of gas: -Petrol -Petrol -Bitumen -Bitumen -Kerosene -Kerosene -Wax -Wax -Solvents -Solvents -Liquid Petroleum -Liquid Petroleum
