MISSION STATEMENT We are a jump start to a healthy living in the lives of our family, friends and community. We have several programs in place to do just that. Our number one goal is make others aware of the sickle cell disease (scd), get children and families tested, support sickle cell patients and their families and offer avenues for others to learn more about SCD and showing them how to make a difference today.

2006 EXECUTIVE WELLNESS Executive Wellness is a HEALTHY YOU program where others are recruited to join in our effort to stay healthy: eating the right foods and exercising daily. We come together as a group once a week for encouragement, sharing our challenges and to urge each other to stay focused.

2006 SICKLE CELL AWARENESS HOSPITAL VISITS- This is our ‘ Touch Program’ because we understand that ‘love and caring are critical tools for helping patients get better, emotions have a powerful effect on a patient’s health. If it were a form of medication, it would be prescribed.’ Join us as we love on those who need a touch (hug), some encouragement and big smiles. SPORT ACTIVITY- These are co-ed games that are scheduled throughout the year, flag football, softball and volleyball. It’s an opportunity to prove if girls are better than boys or vice versa. The goal is to keep you active one event at a time.

GABE’S GYM Gabe's Gym first phase ( ) childcare center ages 0-11 years. A convenient and quality child care. Daily rates, homework support, child fitness and low child ratios, located in Pearland, Texas. Gabe’s gym goal: a gym for little ones and eventually the center will open for all ages.

SICKLE CELL EVENTS A HEALTHY YOU TODAY sponsors events throughout the year for sickle cell families and the community. We are always 'ON THE GO... biking, running, sporting, camping'. Keeping you active one event at a time. This is a time of co-ed softball, volleyball, flag football, educational classes and recruiting for the 'Sickle Cell Awareness Annual 5K Walk/Run.

PARTNERSHIPS NIGHT LIGHT PEDIATRIC URGENT CARE provides urgent care for families throughout Houston and sponsor AHT annual events. STAGGS PAINTINGS- provides paintings for donations to support A HEALTHY YOU TODAY. TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY- health and physical education for community outreach programs to make healthy choices and to keep you active one event at a time. TEXAS CHILDREN’S HEALTH PLAN- provides alternative health plans for families. TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL- host Sickle Cell Education & Research Day (September) PEARLAND NEIGHBORHOOD DONOR CENTER COMMIT FOR LIFE CENTER - allows participants to donate blood.

VOLUNTEER - assist in running annual programs, community service, etc. EXECUTIVE WELLNESS - weekly exercise groups MONTHLY EVENTS - sport activity, touch programs, etc.

H OW TO GET INVOLVED 5K WALK/RUN- annual walk/run throughout the Houston community to support families of sickle cell and celebrate life. AHT Recruiting, Marketing or Advertising DONATION TEAM- handles all donations for events and sickle cell families.
