Draw A Picture of your Family Who are the people you regard as FAMILY?  Write a list of all the people who you consider family Objectives: Students will be able to ANALYZE the definition of FAMILY. Foster Family  Families who provide care for children when their parents are unable to care for them; usually these families are court ordered. Cohabitating Couples  In this kind of family, the couple lives together but is not married.  Either one or both of them are the biological or adoptive parents of the children.  May also be childfree. Draw Picture on Left hand side of notebook

Same Sex Family  Children are sometimes reared by a lesbian or gay single parent or two gay or lesbian adults filling parenting roles.  Adults may bring children from a heterosexual relationship to these families  Children may have been adopted or conceived by medical procedures, such as alternative (artificial) insemination. Multicultural Families  Each parent has a different ethnicity or culture.  The children grow up learning about many different cultures and /or belong to two or more race/ethnicities. Draw Picture on Left hand side of notebook
