INTERPERSONAL SKILLS IN THE WORKPLACE Interpersonal skills are also known as people skills; it’s the skill to interact with people. NOT IN ORDER

Its essential to be able to communicate effectively in a workplace whether verbally or in writing. You will need this attribute to communicate with all sectors in a workplace from the manager to employee to customers. WHY IS COMMUNICATION IMPORTANT ? CLARITY IS ALSO IMPORTANT ITS IMPORTANT TO SLOW DOWN AND BE MORE CLEAR WHEN COMMUNICATING TO AVOID CONFUSION

Companies hire for leadership roles so this attribute is very important. They seek for employees who can successfully interact and lead others; whether customers or Employees ! WHY IS LEADERSHIP IMPORTANT ? LEADERSHIP IS A VALUABLE SKILLS TO BRING TO AN EMPLOYER ! A GOOD LEADER COULD MOTIVATE OTHERS & DEAL WITH DISPUTES EFFICIENTLY

Attitude may not be everything but Its immensely valuable, employees don’t want moody and anti social workers. Employers want positive individuals with a can –do attitude as well as flexibility. WHY IS POSITIVE IMPORTANT ? REMEMBER POSITIVE ATTITUDE MEANS DEDICATION !

Team work is important in a workplace; Employers seek to hire individual who work well with others. They don’t want individuals who are difficult to get on /work with. It could bring a bad energy in the workplace. WHY IS TEAMWORK IMPORTANT ? THERE’S NO ‘I‘ IN TEAM, TEAM WORK MAKE DREAM WORK !

Technical skills are essential in a workplace depending on the sector you are working at. You will need to have technical knowledge in order to do the job correctly. Employers wont hire a dog to do a monkey’s work. WHY ARE TECHNICAL SKILLS IMPORTANT ? IF YOU DON’T HAVE TECHNICAL SKILLS IN COMPUTING THEN YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS APPLYING FOR A IT JOB !

Time management is essential in a workplace because employers don’t want employees to be late all the time. Employees have deadlines and set goals to meet so keeping track of time and punctuality is essential. WHY ARE TIME MANAGEMENT IMPORTANT ? BREAKING WORK OR PROJECT DOWN INTO MANAGEABLE STEPS COULD BE CRUCIAL !

ORGANIZATIONAL Employers would look for individuals with this attribute because they will ensure all the tasks are accomplished as well as that they give constructive feedback to their peers. They also prioritize tasks completing the most important first. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT ? REMEMBER TO BE ORGANIZATIONAL!

PROFFESIONALISM This is a useful attribute because employers expect employees to act professional especially in front of customers. A lack of professionalism could damage the companies image. Its important for employees to treat customers with respect as well as act professional towards them. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT ? EMPLOYERS WOULD EXPECT YOU TO DRESS, ACT AND SPEAK PROFESIONAL !

RELIABLE Employers would expect all employees to be reliable in order to get jobs done ;this also links punctuation. If a business employs an individual to open the shop at 6am then this should be done, if a person isn't trustworthy nor reliable then the shop wouldn’t be opened. WHY IS RELIABILITY IMPORTANT ? Be reliable ! Be trustworthy !

SELF MOTIVATION ! Employers know self motivated individuals get the work done so that’s what they look for. A self motivated individual always has a positive attitude which could influence others. Businesses don’t want to spent money treating employees just for motivation WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT ? A self motivated Individual will get the work done !
