Graphic Organizer Defined… A visual and graphic display that depicts the relationships between facts, terms, and/or ideas within a learning task Sometimes referred to as knowledge maps, concept maps, story maps, cognitive organizers, advance organizers, or concept diagrams (Hall, Strangman, 2002,p.1).

Examples of Graphic Organizers

How Graphic Organizers Help Students Learn Facilitates learning by elevating comprehension and vocabulary knowledge (Hall, Strangman, 2002,p.4).

How Research Supports Graphic Organizers 10 out of 12 studies investigating effects of graphic organizer use on learning reviewed here reported some positive learning outcome 7 out of 15 reported that graphic organizer use elevated comprehension (Hall, Strangman, 2002,p.3).
