Homework YOUR HOMEWORK IS TO DO WHATEVER WORK YOU OWE ME. YOU MUST CHECK WHAT YOU OWE ME AND GET WHATEVER YOU NEED FROM ME BEFORE YOU LEAVE TODAY.

Warm-Up Put any work you owe me in the B2 bin. (Finished Tests, Lottery Questions, “Like a Boss” Characterization) Write the following down in your notebooks: Seaford Marine English 9 LEQ Day 1 Cliches

CONCEPT 2: STRUCTURE CONCEPT 2: STRUCTURE Try to Answer this LEQ in your Composition Book or Binder: How do literary devices set the mood and tone of a text?

Vocab #1: Cliché – a trite or overused expression or idea. Look at these four images and come up with a fitting cliché for each.

More about Clichés: Log on to this site: In pairs, read the two web sites. Then create a two-paragraph story (about anything!) using as many clichés as possible. You may write or type your paragraphs, but you need to have both of your names on it. You have 30 minutes!

Vocabulary Assignment Your group will need to look up the vocabulary words and write a definition and an example of how it is used. You may work together, but everyone will need their own sheet completed.

Warm-Up Place any work you owe me in the appropriate bin. If you have not handed in your test yet, you need to hand it in now whether or not it is finished.
