Warwick Match Aim = to increase charitable income and participation £200 million available to Higher Education institutions in England until July 2011 Up to £2.75 million is available to Warwick in the form of matched funds Matching ratio = additional £1 for every £3 raised Warwick will match gifts from new donors and increased/additional gifts from existing donors

What income is eligible? Only gifts are eligible for matched funding. HEFCE states that a gift is… A voluntary transfer of money by a donor, made with philanthropic intent. After receipt, the gift must be owned in full by the receiving institution. The recipient institution must retain complete ownership of any resultant work or project. The donor may not retain any explicit or implicit control over a gift after acceptance by an institution.

How can Warwick staff be involved in maximising this opportunity? All philanthropic income should be directed through DARO in order to benefit from Gift Aid and Warwick Match. Please contact DARO for advice on philanthropic income and Warwick Match.
