When you get here you’ll come through this door Come in inside and lets have a look

How old are you? If you’re in Grasshoppers or Butterflies you’ll come in through the big room This is our Big room, it is split up into different areas. When you come in there will be activities out for you to play with to help you settle. This is where we hang our coats up and leave our bags; remember you need to have your name in them so they don’t get lost.

Let us show you around our Big Room This is the role-play area, there’s always a fun environment for you to act out your life experiences with your friends. There’s lots of dressing up clothes too! We love to make music, songs and dance We serve ourselves in our cafe style snack area.

Welcome to our Discovery Zone This is the Art corner and there is lots to do; you could paint, or stick, play with playdough, water or sand to name but a few. Every child gets a named draw, so their creations stay safe. Our latest addition is Oliver’s House, named after a very special little boy; this sensory delight is the perfect place to chill out and unwind.

If you’re in Ladybirds or Dragonflies you’ll come in through the quiet room, it tends to be a little calmer. This is where we draw and colour, you could write your name or a letter to Mum or Dad. This is the book corner, you can sit quietly and read a book. Maybe you’d prefer to listen to a story tape, we have lots. In our maths/ICT area there’s lots to do, puzzles, games and computer programmes all designed for you. We have snuggly areas right the way through the setting. Our Senco uses this area for her Derbyshire Language and confidence groups.

Dragonflies have their own special space that the bigger groups aren’t allowed in. There is always lots of fun with a sensory boat and soft play toys, mirrors to see what our faces do when we smile We even have lots of toys we can access ourselves, and we still use all the other areas that the big boys and girls do. We have our nappies changed in a private area in the room.

Some of the different areas, lets take a peek! We encourage you to use the toilet by yourself but there is lots of help for those that need it. All the toilets are numbered to help you learn your numbers. The sinks are down low to make it easy to wash your hands.

Some of the different areas, lets take a peek! We all share the garden; there is lots of room for running about, a road for riding our bikes, a climbing frame with a slide on it and lots of other things.

Now its time to meet the people who make sure the setting runs smoothly. This is Steph S teph is in charge and spends most of her time in the office, when she is let out she can be a bit silly. This is Shayley S hayley makes sure that that everyone is happy and that we are all developing well. She also helps keep Steph in line. This is Mel M el is in charge of Special Educational Needs, and ensures that all children access all areas of play.

Butterflies Grasshoppers Grasshoppers is run by Linda and Becky, they look after the eldest 16 children in the setting from 3-5yrs. Grasshoppers is all about independence and giving the children the life skills they will need for when they move onto school. LindaBecky Butterflies is run by Nat, Vickie and Rachel, they look after the 8 youngest 3yr olds and the 4 oldest 2yr olds. This group is all about interaction and keeping the children engaged in activities so that their attention span increases so that they can absorb more information. Nat Vickie Rachel

Ladybirds Dragonflies Ladybirds is run by Lisa and Jamie-Lee they look after the mid- range 2yr olds. This group is all about exploration, the children are encouraged to explore the resources and areas with the support of their key-people. LisaJamie-Lee Dragonflies is run by Catherine and Beckie they look after up to 7 1yr and 2yr olds. This group is all about nurturing, children are encouraged to form relationships of trust with their key-people to encourage separation from their carers. CatherineBeckie
