Salt Marshes After watching the video on salt marshes, be prepared to explain what types of organisms are equipped to survive in these climates.

Use the information below to answer the following item Use the information below to answer the following item. Plants grow in various environments. Some plants, like mangroves, grow in salty wetlands. Mangroves have specialized structures that prevent salt from entering their cells. Other mangroves have specialized glands that can excrete excess salt. What is the disadvantage of having too much salt in a body system? What effect will it have on cells? (Adapted from HSA Public Release 2009)

Potato Salt Water Lab We are going to observe the effects of salt water on living organisms first hand. This experiment will help you to determine how salty waters effect organisms.

Set Up A Piece of Paper for our next lab “Potato LAB” Scientific Question: What will happen to a Potato that is left in water over night?
