Congratulations! You have been hired by Murray Detective Agency to solve a crime. Let’s get started! Who Did It?

Time to review the evidence… Click on the link below and re-read the story independently. The Case of the Sneak Thief’s Sneakers~

Time to get to work! First things first. We need to get organized. Draw a Tree Map on the paper provided and label with the following: detectives, victim, and suspects.

Identify and Log it! Re-read the insert below and identify the detectives of the story. Write the answer on your Tree Map. Be sure to support your answer with evidence. (How do you know what you know?)

Identify and Log it! Re-read the insert below and identify the victim of the story. Write the answer on your Tree Map. Be sure to support your answer with evidence. (What do you know about him? What did he say that caused you to believe that he is the victim of the story?)

Identify and Log it! Re-read the insert below and identify the suspects of the story. Write the answer on your Tree Map. Be sure to support your answer with evidence. (Write down their name and list physical characteristics.)

Who did it?? Review your suspect list, all evidence, and decide who committed the crime. Write a complete sentence at the bottom of your Tree Map that identifies the thief and explain how you know they are guilty. (What evidence did the author give you to help you solve the mystery?)

Congratulations! You did it! You are an official sleuth for the Murray Detective Agency. Turn in your Tree Map to Mrs. Murray, shut down your computer, and collect your detective ID. Good luck to you!
