Parent Responsibilities Parents and Students WILL be held responsible for the proper use and care of the iBooks. It is REQUIRED that the iBook be insured either on a home owners policy, stand alone policy or through the district. Loss, theft and intentional damage is NOT covered by the district no matter where the theft or loss occurs. Students and families WILL be held responsible for repairs or replacement cost (Approx. $1550). For example: If a student leaves a computer unattended in a classroom and returns later in the day to find it gone, that student and family are responsible for the replacement cost, or if insured through the district, the deductable.

Parent Responsibilities Insurance is available through the district for $38. Parents may choose to insure the laptop through their home owners policy or other insurer. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs may request financial assistance with the cost of insurance, however a deductable will still apply. Applications for free and reduced lunch programs are available in the High School office.

Parent Responsibilities The QVSD provides filtering for inappropriate materials and websites on the Internet. Parents are responsible for monitoring their children’s use of the laptop when at home to ensure the students do not alter laptop settings to go around the Internet filters.
