History of ASU/MCCCD Alliance  Initiated January 2004  The Alliance was organized into teams for planning purposes  Operations/Technical Team  Honors Alliance  Nursing Alliance  Teacher Education Alliance  Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) in Organizational Studies  Manufacturing/Engineering Alliance  Upper-Division Courses Offered at the Maricopa Community Colleges  Original Steering Committee: leaders from MCCCD and ASU  Current Leadership  Maria Harper-Marinick, MCCCD Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs  Gail Hackett, Vice Provost & Dean of the ASU University College  Rudy Garcia, Director, Alliance Program

Progress To Date  Honors Alliance Cohort  Honors Alliance advisor hired by ASU  20 out of the 28 students admitted to the first cohort have applied for degree-seeking status at ASU and received scholarships  15 currently enrolled  Designed and implemented for pilot phase  Joint admissions  Joint financial aid infrastructure  Plans for 3 Alliance programs forthcoming:  Online Rio/ASU BIS in Organizational Studies possible launch January 2006  Nursing AAS to BSN program possible launch Fall 2006  MCCCD/BIS in Organizational Studies program possible launch Fall 2006  Discussions/planning to be reinvigorated for other programs

Model for Proposed Degree Pathways for Alliance Programs  Selected degree paths for AAS Nursing students and BIS Organizational Studies Program (online and face-to-face)  75 lower-division hours transferred from MCCCD  15 upper-division hours offered by ASU through Alliance faculty on MCCCD campuses  30 ASU hours offered by ASU and/or Alliance faculty on ASU campus. Some combination of the final 30 hours could be offered on community college campuses for programs with high enough enrollments.
