Why was this source published? Describe the scene (circle 4 details) What event is the cartoon referring to? Who is the figure? What is he doing & why? Who created it? What did they want to achieve as a result of creating it?

Lack of evidence or knowledge? Use exercise books, What were your targets? Mind-maps, spider & wider, card sorts, notes, pictures What does your answer need? Have your advice for answering questions close by? On Moodle 7 mark explain questions? 8 markers? Source questions Practice exam questions: Can you do it in time limit? Available on VLE Have I covered all the main topics? Look at the course outline Medicine Through Time Germany

Topic to cover: Example – Germany (knowledge)  Weimar Germany & WWI How did WWI affect Germany? Social & Economic issues, Political problems How did the Treaty of Versailles affect Germany? Activities that you might do  Card Sort (relevant factors)  Spider & wider  Timelines (for overview)  Structuring a source question  Transferring evidence into pictures  Preparing a quiz whereby key missing words are left out for another to solve  Matching: Pictures with captions  Songs: Old MacDonald  Quiz: Creating a multi-choice quiz  Made a storyboard that can be used as a BBC Bitesize video By the end of today I will be able to… (skills)  Worked on a chosen target (explanation?)  Effectively analyse/do a source question from Paper 2  Write a 7 marker – VLE  Write a 8 marker - VLE  Test another student & assess their knowledge  Be able to speak for 2mins without hesitation, repetition or deviation Handy History Language: I would agree to a certain extent… This strongly suggests that… This led to… This would not have happened without… It would be too simplistic to say that it was only because… there was also… With x in the background, it made y more likely because… Overall I would suggest that… A B C

Structuring Cartoons & Sources Always focus on what the question is asking you. Is the source fully useful etc? Always refer to the source by identifying details from the source. “Use quotes” from the source too. Support your argument with details from your own knowledge Written answers Again, what is question about? Describe questions will be 5 markers: You just need to identify 5 points. No great depth needed. A brief sentence or two with 5 points Explain questions (7 marks) need two reasons explained (or three to be safe). You don’t need an intro. Start sentences, “The first reason was…” and refer back to the question. “This was important because…” 8 markers (SEA essays) Argument, Counter-argument, conclusion Arg.Counter-Arg. Timings: 1mark = 1 ½ mins. Perhaps leave slightly more for 8 markers
