MS-WORD MS-Word is a word processing software. it helps you to create letters, memo, reports etc. HOW TO OPEN WORD click start menu button write Ms-word in search. type “winword.exe” in Run.

Creating document Click file menu. Click new submenu. it will display a new blank document. Type the text in document page what you want. press ctrl+N from keyboard.

Selecting the text Selecting a large area Select an entire word double click any word you to want select. selecting a paragraph press triple click. put cursor on starting point hold down shift key Click on ending point of the desired area Release the mouse the area will be selected.

De selecting selected area to deselect the selected area click any where in the document. SAVING DOCUMENT From file menu click file menu. Then click save submenu. choose the location to save it. Type the name of file in file name box. give the type of document in “save as type” box. Click save button.

From tool bar click save icon tool on standard tool bar. choose location type of document in save button click save button. Through keyboard press ctrl+s from keyboard.

Save through option dialog box The number of save options are offered in the option dialogue box in the tools menu. to apply all these option the following steps involved. 1.click tool menu then options submenu. 2.Options dialogue box will appear. 3.In the option dialogue box click save tab.

Always create backup copy select this option to make a backup copy of the current opened document. This will create the backup copy of document with same name and extension BAK. Allow fast save select this option to save document more quickly.this option may required when your document contain large pictures,heavy graphics,tables.

Continue…… Save auto recover into every 5 minutes by selecting this option the world automatically save the document in case of power failure. after certain time period it will save the changes automatically. security in this option you can password protect your document and make the document read only. there are two type of password

Continue…. Password to open this type of password prevents some one from opening the documents without knowing the password. if you use password don’t forget your password. Password to modify This type of password is used as write reservation password. The document can be open without password.But it will happened when the user understand the write reservation password.

Opening documents From file menu Click file menu Click open submenu Choose the location of folder where file is stored Select the name of file from the file list. Click open button The desired document will be open.

Editing documents Editing in word documents is another feature of Microsoft word. we can easily modify the document in the word.some features are as follow. UNDO AND REDO COMMANDS This command is used for cancellation of last action which you perform accidentally or by mistake. The short cut is ctrl+z.The symbol is

Continue…….. REDO OR REPEAT. This redo or repeat command is used for cancellation of undo command. The short cut is ctrl+y.symbol is CUT The cut command is used for moving text,paragraph,pictures,an object from one place to another place. short cut is ctrl+X.

Continue……. COPY COMMAND This command is same as cut but the only difference is cut command the selected object or text disappear from its original place while in copy command it does not disappear from its original place. First select the text and then press short cut ctrl+c.

Continue…. PASTE COMMAND When you cut or copy the text or object it is stored on clipboard. After cut and copy we can display this text o an insertion point by the help of past command. place the cursor where to past then press ctrl+v.or click edit menu and click paste command.

Deleting text or object If you had mistake pressing back space key you can clear that data. Select the text press delete button from keyboard. Select the text you want to delete click edit menu and press clear.

Finding the text from document To find the text,special character header footer the find command is most powerful tool.There are following steps. Click edit menu and click find. Press ctrl +f from the key board. Find dialogue box will be appear. Type the text in find what box. It will highlight the desired text.

Replace. To replace text special character,paragraph,comments with others replace command is most powerful tool. There are following steps. Click edit menu and then click replace option. Press ctrl+h from keyboard Replace dialogue box will appear.

Goto command Goto command is used to reach on specific page,line,table etc.Following steps are involved. Click edit menu then click Go. Press ctrl+G or press f5. Goto dialogu will appear Type line number,line where you want to go. Click next button to go.

Page setting in word There are two main settings in page setup. Margin setting Setting paper size and orientation. 1.Margin setting in page setup the margin setting is the main feature. Margin contains the different elements top,bottom,left,right,header footer and gutter margin. To set the margin settings there are following steps:
