IrDA for Infrared IrDA is “Infrared Data Association”, is used for short range of sending and receiving data over infrared light, it can be used in personal area network. IrDA are used in mobile phones, laptops computers and medical instruments. For the devices to communicate via IrDA they must have a direct line of sight similar to a TV remote control.
