Artists (Painters)

There are many different forms of art such as drawing, painting, sculpture, acting, dancing, writing, music and photography. People who are good in the arts are called artists.

Drawing and painting is a form of art. It is also known as visual art or fine arts.

A good painter uses his imagination, talent and skill to create work that other people value and appreciate. We say that such painting has aesthetic value because it is beautiful to look at.

Van Gogh and Monet were two of the most famous painters in the 19th and 20th Century. They were both masters of impressionism. This means that they did not follow the old rules of painting, but followed their own unique styles.

Painters work in studios. They use tools such as an easel, oil colours and brushes.
