2 Why Study the Visual Arts?
Developing skills and practicing Visual Art will allow students to visually: Communicate ideas Express emotions Reflect on the world Comment on the human condition

What do you do in Art? Students will experiment with a variety of tools and media. Drawing Painting Printmaking (screen printing, lino printing, mono printing) Digital Media (including photography and video) Ceramics/Clay 3D Sculpture Graphic Design

4 What’s the difference between HL and SL?
Personal choice-how much time do you want to dedicate? How interested are you? Both levels are taught together Major difference is amount of Studio work and Investigation Workbook pages expected University plans

5 Course Requirements High Level: 240 Hrs total
Part A-Studio Work 168 Hrs Part B-Investigation Workbook 72 Hrs-300 pages Standard Level: 150 Hrs total Part A-Studio Work 105 Hrs Part B-Investigation Workbook 72 Hrs-150 pages

6 Assessment Final Exhibition Moderation of Workbooks and Studio Work
Interview & Presentation of work There is no written exam for art, however students continuously write about their work and research relevant artists.
