7. Guernica In 1937 a civil war in Spain left a small town called Guernica destroyed by bombs. Many innocent people were killed which made Picasso very angry. He created a huge painting (12 feet high and 25 feet wide) and used darker colors, cubism, and lots of expression to show his angry feelings.
