PowerPoint for Chemistry Mr. Wallace

General Concepts Tell a Story One Main Idea Per Page Use Talking Points One Minute per Page Use Color and Pictures to Enhance Your Presentation Don’t Forget Closure

Tell A Story All Good Stories Have: –Beginning Your Equation –Middle How, When, Where 2 Effects on Humans –Ending – Closure Recent News Keep Your Audience In Mind

Main Ideas Focus on One Main Idea Per Page Use Talking Points –Short Phrases –Explain Each During Your Talk 2-4 Bullets per Page –Limit to 6-8 Lines Per Page Can Continue Main Idea to Another Page

Talking Points Don’t fill the page with a long sentence or quote that you read in the presentation because its very boring and your audience can read it faster than you can and they will get distracted and forget what you are talking about and start to look out the window or start talking with the person next to them about Moon Dance or

Talking Points something else that has nothing to do with the presentation that you spent all this time and effort to make so that you could pass Chemistry and go to college and graduate and get a job and get married and have kids so they can make PowerPoint presentations in Chemistry just like you did.

Timing Plan on About 1 Minute per Slide Don’t Read From Your Slide Use Note Cards –Write Down Key Points Practice Your Presentation Before Class –Practice With Your Partner –Know Which Slide Each Person Will Present
