THE BATTING INVESTIGATION
QUESTION Which type of bat makes the ball go the farthest distance, Composite, Easton, or Big Barrel?
PURPOSE THE PURPOSE OF MY INVESTIGATION IS TO DETERMINE WHICH TYPE OF BAT MAKES THE BALL GO THE FARTHEST DISTANCE. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW SO PEOPLE WILL KNOW WHAT THE BEST BAT IS TO BUY.
HYPOTHESIS I hypothesize that the Composite bat will make the ball go the farthest distance. I believe this because when I bat with the composite bat, the ball go goes to the outfield, but when I bat with any other bat it goes to the far infield or the short outfield.
PROCEDURE
MATERIALS 1 30 inch Composite bat piece loose leaf paper 1 30 inch Big Barrel bat number 2 pencil 1 30 inch Easton battee bucket of baseballs measuring tape
VARIABLE Manipulated - The bat Responding - The ball flight distance Constants - The person - The tee - balls hit -balls - method of measuring distance
DIRECTIONS 1.) Gather materials 2.) Setup tee 3.) Hit the ball with the Composite 4.) Measure the distance from the tee to the the ball 5.)Record 6.) Repeat steps 3-6 four more times with the Big Barrel bat 7.) Repeat steps 3-6 four more times with Easton bat

GRAPH
CONCLUSION My hypothesize was incorrect. The Big Barrel was better than the Composite. Based on the measure flight distance, the average of the Composite was meters. The average of the distance of the Big Barrel was 49.31meters. The average of the Easton was meters. If I did this investigation again, I would change all the balls to regular baseballs instead of having rubber and regular baseballs.
