R esearch Research is key when trying to find an occupation. The internet is an amazing tool to use to help you understand and give you information on different occupations. It also helps you narrow down occupations that you are interested in so you don’t end up having a job that you don’t like. After researching what type of occupation you would like to have, you need to see what college classes you need to take to be able to have the chance of getting hired at one of your desired companies. What interests me is business I find running my own company something appealing and I'm wishing to do it as a profession. Hopefully I will be able to attend the university of Texas business school since it I rated one of the top in the nation. Resume Your resume is your occupation life. It’s what you show the employer to advertise your skills to prove that you are the best fit for the job. Cover Letter A cover letter is a document that is submitted along with your application it’s the sticker on a new car that tells you all the features you have. It goes on top of your resume and is more personal. This is where you can provide other information not needed on the resume. Reference Letter The use of a reference letter allows the job seeker to show his new employer the skills and trust that he previously had with his old company. A reference letter can either be sent seen or unseen when sending an unseen reference letter it is the employee's responsibility to understand that the letter may not help him receive the job. If the previous employer does appreciate his employee having an unseen reference letter can be the easiest way to be hired in a new setting. Interview The interview is the most critical part of getting the job. The interview is your chance to prove that you are the best person for the job. It is the last step before the employer makes his or her final decision on the position. You have to be at your element because of the amount of others applying for the job. Tips: Think of what kind of person your employer is looking for Think of questions the employer might ask and go through answers in your head Make sure you look and dress professionally/ normal attire for the new job. Men: Should be cleanly shaven, dress pants, jacket Women: Not too much perfume, no obnoxious jewelry, and neutral make up nothing to call to much attention to. Letter of Resignation Letters of resignation are given to the employer when you are ready to leave your job in order to find better opportunity or its just time to leave. It is very polite to give your letter of resignation two weeks in advanced of your last day so you they are able to possibly find another candidate for the job as well if you have found a new job already it gives you an opportunity to experience it and build early relationships. Your letter should be short, to the point, and you need to explain why you are leaving the position or what has happened. Make sure you stay professional and do not be rude to your employer because you may want to use them as a reference later in your career especially if the company is very prestige's.
