Lifelong learner, well-read and informed so that you know change is coming, always retrain and upgrade your skill set. FROM CHAPTER TWO: –Be sure you understand the factors that should influence your career choices: Values, personality, lifestyle, aptitudes, and interests.

8 From Chapter Two: Goal Setting –Be able to talk about all three types of goals: Short-term, Intermediate and Long-Term. Make sure the Goals are S.M.A.R.T. –Examples of vague goals: Short-Term: –Pass all classes with A’s & B’s Intermediate: –Get a job. Go to college. Long-Term: –Family, house, car, job I like. –Examples of specific goals: Short-Term: –Obtain an 85% or higher on my Math test (Friday) Intermediate: –During track, break 4:40 in the mile (1-2 months) Long-Term: –Finish college (undergrad/graduate in a business major)

9 SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM CHAPTER THREE: –Make sure you can describe what A.I.D.A. means when referring to letters of application! Get their attention, make it interesting, show your desire for the job, ask for or take action! Making a resume: –Make sure you can name and explain some of the sections on your resume. Personal information, education, work history, references, skills, extracurricular activities, volunteer work etc… Preparing for a job interview: –Be able to discuss things you need to do to really do great at a job interview. Dress appropriately, prepare for some questions in advance, research the company you are interviewing with and come up with some questions of your own,
