July Accomplishments: Authority and Design Build Contractor staff conducted the 3rd Urban Design committee meeting. Committee members viewed proposed station canopy concepts and landscape plant palette for linear transit parkway and station areas. Presented an update on project construction schedule and urban design concepts to the Expo Park and California Science Center Board. Completed negotiations with City of Los Angeles on Master Cooperative Agreement (MCA). Advanced negotiations of the Annual Work Program for FY07 with various City departments. Coordinated with City of Los Angeles to respond to CPUC comments on the preliminary Grade Crossing Hazard Analysis

July Accomplishments: Completed advance design of major utility relocations between 23rd Street and Vermont and submitted to City of Los Angeles for approval. Coordinated with Caltrans to complete advanced planning studies for project work that affects the State-owned right of way. Authority presented project construction schedule and project overview to the Mid-City Recovery Redevelopment Project Area Committee. Design Build Contractor completed the initial design survey work, completed identification of street potholing requirements and commenced Geotechnical exploration program.

July Accomplishments: Obtained Authority and Metro Board approval of procurement of Universal Fare System equipment for the Expo Project. Authority and Design Build Contractor hired two high school interns for Summer Employment with Expo. Design Build Contractor finalized Construction Insurance and the Baseline Schedule and submitted to the Authority for acceptance. Metro Real Estate completed acquisition of one(1) parcel out of a total of 21. To date, appraisals have been completed on 5 parcels and 4 offers have been made. The MTA Board adopted a resolution of necessity to acquire one (1) parcel through the eminent domain process. Lease Termination notices were issued to 15 tenants effective September 30 to accommodate the removal of an existing underground pipeline.

August Planned Activities:  Conduct the fourth Urban Design Committee meeting on Tuesday, August 8,  Continue real estate acquisition and lease termination activities.  Complete design for Flower Street Improvements.  Design Builder to finalize Quality Program and Contracting Plan.  Design Builder to continue design development and field surveying.

August Planned Activities: Authority and Design Build Contractor negotiate initial construction package and present to Authority Board in September for approval. Continue negotiations of a Master Cooperative Agreement (MCA) with Culver City. Complete Annual Work Program for the City of Los Angeles and present to Board for approval in September. Authority and Design Build Contractor to conduct partnering session on August 2, 2006.

August Planned Activities: Design Build Contactor and Authority to negotiate, finalize and place construction insurance (CCIP). Design Build Contractor to begin street potholing activities. Finalize Expo Jobs Program in conjunction with the Contractor.
