Hyperlinking and Embedding Instructions Menu Hyperlinking a Video to an Image Downloading Images and Audio files Embedding a Video “Really Embedding” a Video - Features and Benefits - Preview: Web Browsing in PowerPoint Interactive Presenter tools Back to Menu This button takes you back to this page from slides that complete a set instructions.

1.Log into Discovery Education streaming 2.Download a video segment and save to a folder 3.Go to Insert + Picture + Clip Art or From File 4.Left click your mouse button to select the image 5.Right click the selected image to and select Hyperlink 6.Find the video that you downloaded and double click or click Ok to connect the file to the image as a hyperlink 8. The hyperlink is signified when your cursor changes to a pointing finger when you pass over the image Steps for Hyperlinking Video to an Image Back to Menu

Discovery Education streaming Images & Audio DE streaming has over 20,000 images and over 2900 audio clips Login, then type your desired search selection and change the Within drop down box to Images or Audio and click Go

Saving Discovery Education streaming Images Click on the preferred image size to download direct, or click on image preview and right click then save as. Tip: Always save files in one folder along with the presentation to ensure files remain connected and display properly.

Saving Discovery Education streaming Audio Click on the blue disk to download audio file Back to Menu Tip: Rename it as a smaller file name to prevent errors.

Steps for Embedding 1.Go up to Insert 2.Go to Movies and Sounds 3.Select Movie from file 4.Navigate to the file that you downloaded 5.Double click the file and it will embed the video into your PowerPoint slide Tip: This also works for audio files, except you select Sound options instead Back to Menu

Now for something really cool Back to Menu Really Embedding – Windows Based 1. Go to your tool bar and click on the word View 2. Click on Toolbars and then Control Tool Box This will bring up a box that looks like this:

Really Embedding Continued 3. Click on the Hammer And Wrench Icon 4. Scroll down and choose Windows Media Player This will change your cursor to a + symbol – Giving you the ability to draw a box

Really Embedding Continued 5. Draw a box and then right-click on the box and choose Properties

Almost there… 6. Click inside the blank box next to the box titled Custom and then click on the three little dots

Finding the video 7. Click on the Browse button to find the video that you want to embed, then check the Stretch to fit button and then click on the OK button Tip: I usually uncheck the Auto Start Playback option so that I can manually start the video

Full Capability Video! You have “really embedded” a video with full control of forward, rewind, pause, and sound.

Full Screen Zoom With “Really Embedding” This will definitely get their attention! Right click the window and select Full Screen while playing the video in presentation mode. It works great to toggle between full screen and the presentation using the ESC key.

Create and control web site resources by locking to one site preventing students from straying to other sites during lessons. Preview: “Really Embedding” Web Browsers Back to Menu Full Instructions coming soon via DEN Webinar!
