2. Choose one item from #1-5 on your Declaration of Independence Worksheet and put it into your own words. You will then have boxes #2-4 to complete. This is #1: The Declaration of Independence was written by ….. There are many ways that you can put this into your own words: -Fred Federal wrote the Declaration of Independence. -Fred Federal is the author of the Declaration of Independence. HINT: Fred Federal is not the right answer.

The next set of instructions for #2 is this: Include a graphic from Clipart.com that helps to explain what you wrote. Use one of the nouns that you used as your search term at clipart.com. Graphics of the Declaration of Independence are unacceptable. To do this you will go to the NEMS website and click on Clip Art. Log on with the passwords: NEMS & NEMS

Fred Federal is the author of the Declaration of Independence. At clipart.com I put “author” in the search box and I was given 37 graphics to choose from. A synoym for author is writer. I put “writer” in the search box and I was given 118 graphics to choose from.

To download graphics at ClipArt.com: -with your left hand hold down the control and option keys AND use your right hand to click on the graphic -click on save image as -rename it if you like and save it on your desktop -in powerpoint click on insert picture

The graphic that I chose is too big. To adjust the size of a graphic ALWAYS grab one of the corners. NEVER grab any of the other handles. This is the size I want to use. If it is still too big or too small, I can adjust it later
