2 Backgrounds Where to find ‘digital paper’ to use.  Teachers Pay Teachers. You will need an account. You can join for free and download some items for free. To find the backgrounds search for ‘Digital Paper’.  Google. Search for PowerPoint Backgrounds

3 Images/Clip Art Where to find images to use.  Teachers Pay Teachers. You will need an account. You can join for free and download some items for free. To find the the clip art, simply search for clip art. There are lots of freebies.  Google.

4 How to do add backgrounds Creating a Background Click the slide or slides that you want to add a background style to. Select Format Background. A box will appear with Solid, Gradient, Picture or Texture and Pattern. Solid- One colour background Picture or Texture – Insert your own picture, digital paper or select a textured background Pattern- Create a pattern using two colours. Here you can choose to format the background on one or all of the sides, by selecting apply or apply to all.

Inserting a clip art Insert – Picture- Clip Art – Search- Click on Photo To move the images Click on the image – Right Click- Format Picture - Layout – Choose from: In line with text In front of text Behind Text Tight (You can move this wherever you want) Square

7 How to add timings to your PowerPoint Select the slide that you want to set the timing for. On the Transitions tab, in the Timing group, under Advance Slide, do one of the following: To make the slide advance to the next slide when you click the mouse, select the On Mouse Click check box. The slides will change every time you press the mouse. The other option is to select the box that says ‘After’. Then you can select how much time you want to have between slides.

8 How to find already created PowerPoints You don’t always need to make a new PowerPoint. You can usually find some on Google. Search the topic you are looking for plus PowerPoint. The links that come up with PPT at the end are PowerPoints.

9 Ideas & Tips There is a freeze button on your remote. Press it to pause the current screen on the board. Literacy & Numeracy warm ups. Put timings on the slides and set out the days activities while the students learn! Genius! Handwriting – Dotted thirds onto PowerPoint and then freeze! Easy! Morning Message. Don’t repeat instructions over and over and over again! Spelling words. Type them into a PowerPoint and display them on the IWB. Can easily be brought up over the week and referred to. You’ll also have them for next year. Display instructions. Kids know what to do instead of asking you! Rotations. Keep yourself and the kids on track with the weeks rotations.
