18. SAVING OPTIONS PowerPoint 2007 has multiple file saving options. SAVE (*.pptx): Default option saves as 2007 version and usually generates smallest file size. To open this file, people will need 2007 ‟ s software OR the free “2007Compatibility Software” from Microsoft installed on their PC. SAVE AS 97-2003 (*.ppt) allows the old software to open the file without needing the Compatibility software.
