The Critical Steps of Improvement Planning Comprehensive Needs Assessment Prioritize needs Analysis of Causes and Contributing Factors for needs Set measurable goals Develop steps to achieve goals Allocate resources Monitor the implementation of the plan Evaluate the plans effect on student achievement

Comprehensive Needs Assessment What does the data tell us our needs are?

Prioritize Needs Which of these identified needs are of greatest concern (2-3 needs)?

Analysis of Causes and Contributing Factors for needs What factors caused these needs of greatest concern to occur?

Set measurable goals What is our goal in addressing each of these needs and when will we reach these goals?

Develop steps to achieve goals What steps will we take to reach our goals and who will oversee each step?

Allocate resources What resources will we need to reach our goal?

Monitor the implementation of the plan (Set benchmarks) What methods will we use to ensure each step is completed?

Evaluate the plan’s effect on student achievement How will we measure the effectiveness of our actions?
