The Big Connection Ultimately, the three sections of the Math Action Plan are interconnected and following this guide results in greater achievement for students and feeds the cycle of instruction and assessment Inspiring a positive mindset in regards to math allows for students to become confidant in their skills and also allows for a higher level of engagement in their math lessons. In addition to providing the correct environment for student growth this results in a larger amount of more useful material for assessment. This increase and improvement in assessable material allows for greater diagnostic assessment, as well as improved assessment as, for and of learning. Better, more in depth assessment can allow for a deeper focus on the areas that need the greatest improvement. Being able to isolate these areas allows for customization and differentiation to meet the need of each students, their Individual Education Plans as well as the needs of the classroom as a whole Finally, being able to provide a customized lesson creates an environment ripe for student success. When students are able to succeed it helps to create a positive mindset in regards to math
