American Government Article II

Section 1 1.President holds all executive power, four year term, elected with vice-president 2.Electors for the states, no Rep or Senator shall be an elector 3.Replaced by Amendment 12 (Electoral College) 4.Congress determines date and time of election for president, same day in entire nation

Section 1, cont years of age, natural born citizen, 14 years a resident 6.Replaced by Amendment 25 7.Presidential compensation, not to be changed during the term 8.Presidential oath of office

Section 2 1.Commander in Chief of military, Chief Executive Officer, Reprieves and Pardons – except impeachments 2.Make Treaties – Senate Ratifies with 2/3 majority, Executive Appointments – with 2/3 Senate Confirmation for major positions 3.Can fill vacancies during Congressional recesses w/o confirmation, to expire at the end of the Congressional session

Section 3 1.State of the Union address, suggest legislation, can call special sessions of Congress, or may adjourn them temporarily, receive Ambassadors, Execute the law, commission all officers of the United States
