Anna Woodward and Romy Chu The Judicial Branch was established in 1787

 The Judicial Branch has the power to declare laws unconstitutional  The Judicial Branch has the power to decide if a person, accused of a crime, is guilty or innocent.  The Judicial Branch has final say about Statues and Regulations  When someone is accused of a crime, the court gives both sides a lawyer and a chance to present facts and relevant laws to prove their innocence.

 The Supreme Court handle any cases that other courts cannot take  The Supreme Court really only has a few cases per year  The Supreme Court is also the highest level of the Judicial Branch

 The Judicial branch checks the legislative branch by declaring a law unconstitutional.  The Judicial Branch can check the executive branch by declaring its actions unconstitutional.  The Legislative branch checks the judicial branch by approving the judges and they can also impeach the judges.  The executive branch checks the judicial branch by appointing their judges, it also must approve the judges.

 Unconstitutional laws would be passed  There would be rebellions, riots, and uprisings all around America, like Egypt.  No one would have consequences for broken laws  The government would collapse, because all the branches are connected, and if one goes away, the rest would too.

 Obama’s Healthcare Law was declared unconstitutional on Monday, December 13, 2010  This was declared unconstitutional because the healthcare plan was forcing citizens to buy a product-healthcare insurance. This is against the constitution and the Supreme Court had the power to abolish it.  Judge Henry Hudson, from the United States District Court for the Eastern Court of Virginia was the first to declare this unconstitutional
