How To Make a Strategic Plan work 6 Major Steps That Can Help Leaders in Making a Strategic Plan Workable

What Is A Strategic Planning Answers from the attendance

Steps that will make a Strategy work Leaders are the key people in the success of their enterprise They are the brain of the organization Napoleon Bonaparte says, “ There is no bad soldiers, they are only bad generals” Helen Keller says that what would be critical for a leader would be “…to have sight but lack vision”. Leaders’ determination in impacting people with vision and energizing them toward success will bear its real fruit. Seven simple steps will help leaders make the strategy work.

Step I. Pray it Leadership is not about wisdom and common knowledge ( Step to Christ. P.365) Leadership is a spiritual act: it requires that one be led by the HOLY SPIRIT The contact with the Leader Per Excellence, Jesus Christ is the key element in the success of our plans (John 15:1-8). Prayer is the link between us and the Divinity. Our success depends on how close we are with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Remember, it is not your work but theirs. They know what to do to make it successful. Depending on them is the secret.

Step II: Know it A Strategic Plan is a tool that shows you what you are going to do before you do it For it to become a reality, it has to be real in your mind. You need to understand it, and the mechanism of its operation The questions WHAT( Needs) , WHY(Mission), WHERE(the territory), WHEN(Time frame), and HOW(Resources- spiritual, human, financial, material & regulatory) will help in the understanding of every strategy.

Step III. Love it Everyone loves his/her life Your strategy is your life Therefore everyone loves his/her strategy Anything you do out of love can happen Love creates and mobilizes energy and incommensurable strengths Love is the basic principle of motivation, it invents interest and willingness. Believe in the vision a

Step IV. Live it A loved strategy is part of your daily life. You think it, dream it and envision it as if it had already happen. You cherish it and can’t wait to see it happen Your behavior, actions and thoughts are governed by the desire to see it happen All aspects of your life are affected by the hope for a bright future Set your mind to accomplish your strategy Make it part and parcel of your aspiration, your live.

Step V. Work it Realize it in deed. Make it happen in reality Stop dreaming, move into real actions. Come back down to earth Be pragmatic, dynamic and critical Put constant checks and small evaluations and appraisals Be flexible and open-minded when applying it Be a team worker, a team player, cooperative Coach, mentor, listen, appreciate and motivate Provoke, inspire and affirm Be determined to succeed despite obstacles Follow all steps closely and commit yourself to success. Don’t be intimidated by failure.

Step VI. Reap it Be results-oriented Work in order to get there Your work must be productive Live the changes produced by your work Enjoy the fruit of your labor Celebrate your success and its contribution the advancement of God’s work Evaluate your work and be satisfied.
