Norway – short introduction

Workinglanguage course: Norwegian in healthcare/Kindergarten

Background for the courses: Initiativ from employment office (NAV = Work and welfare) Wanted by the students Partners: Adult educations centre in Tromsø Edunor /Norsk fagskole Nav support the participants with money

Main objective: Qualify the Students/participants for a job in kindergarten or within healthcare

Cooperation: VO-high school-NAV

Settings: Number participants: 20 (minimum 12) Place: Voksenopplæringa i Tromsø Duration: 22 weeks

Target group: Minority speaking immigrants, unemployed with entitled to Norwegian courses and are interested in working within children or health care

Course content 50% health care Curriculum: High school, major of health care 1. and 2. year Communication Ethic/attitude, nursing confidentiality Diseases and how to deal with them Hygienic First aid Shifts, rights and duties

Level of Norwegian At least A2, which mean you can communicate, make yourself understood and understand at some degree, what the conversation is about. Test in Norwegian level 2 or 3 at the end of the course. (European framework)

Norwegian Language course 50% Norwegian Words and expression from the working place. Rights and duties in the labor market, coordinating with the LO union. CV Job-interwiew (role-play, listening) Grammar and writing
