Folded arms Whispering under breaths Frowns Grading papers Rolling eyes Facial expressions – stone Absent Rolling eyes Anger Yawns No eye contact Writing notes to a neighbor Shaking their heads Raised eyebrows Sits away Checking time constantly Checking Reading book Answering cell phone Sounds like... Ask what if questions Negative responses We’ve done this before & didn’t work Excuses Yeah buts Silence Muttering It’s not in my contract Throw pens on table Doors slamming Sighs When is this going away This too shall pass Going to sleep – snoring! Is this something you want me to do or something I have to do Raising voices Are we going to get subs to do this Do we get extra pay Are we being singled out Where are we going to find the time? Is this on my evaluation Nothing’s going to help these kids. Yayda yayda yayda Whatever... I’m not going to do it. I’m retiring I’ve got 183 sick days

Fear of losing: TIME Strategies to Reduce Fear: All work together Address complaining head-on Show where it will benefit them Adjust schedule (embed discussions) Prioritizing (get rid of some things, e.g. PBA) Present positively (opportunity to consolidate) Baby steps – one step at a time Work on front end (time limits) Will give us assessment on programs Way to manage change Talk to – talk to again !!!!!!
