Today’s Meeting Growth Mindset ‘Juniors’ Reading Homework This year’s topics PE School Dinners School Trip/Class assembly

We are a Growth Mindset School What does this mean?

Juniors – Years 3,4,5 & 6 Mrs Cripps is our Juniors Team Leader Our school day begins at 8.40 a.m. Registration is at 8.50 a.m. Shared assemblies, play times and lunch times. School shop on the playground each day. Any money in a named envelope please. Water bottles – access all day. Feel free to provide your own snack. Good behaviour rewarded with ‘Team Points’ or ‘Golden Time Point’.

‘Ocean Diaries’ - Reading Every Friday, we will check the ocean diaries for reading and parent/guardian signatures. Diaries will be checked on a weekly basis, if there is something that needs to be brought to our attention we ask children to make us aware. Please ensure that your child reads at least three times a week (ten - fifteen minutes) and sign in the diary to let us know. Three signatures = one reading stamp = extra ‘Golden Time Point’ The children are responsible for handing in Ocean diaries and changing their own reading books in the mornings.

Golden Time Each child automatically gets 5 points every day The children can lose points for making the wrong decision, but can also earn them. For example, being helpful around the school. Golden Time is on a Thursday afternoon To participate they have to have 20 points or more If they have between they only receive half of their Golden Time Children with any less than this don’t participate in Golden Time Children can choose how they wish to spend their Golden Time by picking an activity Every class teacher and teaching assistant offers a different activity for the children to choose from

Homework Maths homework will usually be one of the educational Maths games. The maths is set each Friday, due in the following Thursday. Children will complete their Topic or English homework in their Homework books. Homework will then be marked and returned ready for Friday’s new homework.
