« Sensitive » questions  Three fields are involved : Religion Years in France before getting a first permit of stay (i.e. illegally) Identity, ethnicity

Schedule  2 tests : January and December 2007  Field : September to December 2008  First results : autumn 2009

Concerning the measure of discrimination, the analysis will follow two approaches; first one is to evaluate discrimination according to the declaration of the respondents; the other one is to estimate the gap between the immigrants’ situation and the rest of the population controlling for other characteristics.

Legal environment  Statistical council: judges the usefulness of the project  Label committee. Judges the statistical quality of the survey (including sampling)  National Commission “Informatique” and Freedom: allows or not the survey or some questions regarding to the rights of the person  And, that was unexpected, the Constitutional Council. They ruled on the fact whether it right or not to ask questions on religion, origin and which ones.
