Types of technology uses Examples Benefits School/classroom Wikis School/classroom Blogs Google docs Google Calendar Mail Merges Online Surveys Podcasting Cooperative assignments that can be developed together in cyber spaces even across the curriculum Assigning students out of class assignments the can be posted for discussion questions Develop online word document, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, etc. that can be shared or changed by a group or groups of constituents School or system calendar that can continuously updated or shared by the system and or the community A way to combine a word document with a spreadsheet A great way to survey a group of people within or outside the school system A great way to differentiate instruction as well as providing info to staff members without face to face meetings.

Uses for wikis Develop an assignment that would consist of having each student provide information to the same document by signing in and providing their input to a paper. Devise a problem in math or science that requires research and multi- step procedures. Have students provide pieces of informational research to the wiki, and then solve the problem as a virtual group. As an educational leader a wiki could be used as a means of having your staff offer information about a school related issue without requiring a faculty meeting. A school district could make comments to a wiki about the establishment of a new policy that is being proposed. As a lead teacher, one could utilize a wiki to provide crucial information and ask for suggestions from their department to plan for curricular strategies. Compile a curriculum map across the curriculum. Student portfolios

Uses for Google Docs No downloaded software needed (save $) Documents online that can be accessed by multiple groups/individuals and saved without backing up Online spreadsheets of different inventory (textbooks, sports equipment, classroom inventories, etc.) No more excuses of why a students project is not available.

Uses for Online Surveys Online Assessments for students (teacher or student developed) Voting for offices for student government Homecoming Division prospective on a particular topic Community input for division purposes (SACS, textbooks, reading programs, etc.) Bullying surveys that could involve students, parents and teachers in a way that could be tallied easily
