For the majority of Indians, religion permeates every aspect of life, from common-place daily chores to education and politics.  Rama is one of the many popular figures and deities in Hinduism. Most of the details of Rama's life come from the Ramayana, one of the two great epics of India. [11] The image above shows Rama with Sita (center on the throne), surrounded by his brothers and other deities. Women of the Indian culture take it upon their duty to be loyal and helpful to their husbands. One idle that is specific to their love to their husbands is Sita who was deeply in love with Rama (one of the main Gods in Hinduism). When Rama is banished from the kingdom, he attempts to convince Sita not to join him in a potentially dangerous existence in the jungle, but Sita rejects it, proving that it was an essential duty of a wife to be at her husband's side come good or ill. Rama in turn is protective and caring for Sita throughout the exile. In this very well known legend; religion and love comes together, thus depicting simply how important it is to the Indian culture.
