Site visit in March of 2013 Merger between Kalki and Sharana was very challenging and very complicated Grant was utilized for Girls Program Staffing, materials, and medical and transportation costs for clients. School Program and the Half-way Program were not started. 352 Girls were assisted during the year. Final program report can be found on New Day website. Daughters of Cambodia Providing Employment for Women Leaving Sex Trade $HKD Grants To Date413,000 Grant March 2013 (Nov 2012)140,040 Additional Designated Donations 44,000 March 2013 Grant provided for Operations Staff stipends, rent for the new social work, medical, and daycare facility, and purchase of a new generator. Currently employs 145 clients in their 8 fair trade businesses Site visit in June: visited new café and guest house. Expanded outreach activities and found new clients are in need of greater support services. (55 new clients in Q1 and 44 in Q2).
Grant made in January to cover personnel, administrative and special project costs grant co-funded by Linklaters. LOVEQTRA Girls Home and School In Qinghai, China Recent Grant to fund the purchase of a new truck and new classroom furniture April meeting with Philip for update: –As girls age, need to develop vocational training programs –Build connections with educational institutions in other parts of China to provide additional opportunities for girls. –Hope to start small hospitality businesses to help fund school costs while providing training opportunities. i.e. coffee house or pizza restaurant. Shenzhen NGO Captivating International covers most of the operating expenses of the Girls Home. PathFinders Ensure Hong Kong born Migrant Children have a Fair Start Grant to cover 10% of the operating expenses of Pathfinders Core Program: The Mothers Empowerment Program. Pathfinders was first established in Hong Kong in 2007 and have served over 1500 pregnant migrant mothers and children.
