The President’s Many Hats THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH The President’s Many Hats

CHIEF EXECUTIVE The president is the boss of the executive branch. He meets with a lot of people. The president is in charge of all the workers in the executive branch The president picks the heads of departments like education or defense.

CHIEF DIPLOMAT The president meets with leaders from many countries The president has state dinners to honor the leaders of other countries The president talks with other countries to keep peace and work with them on problems.

CHIEF OF STATE As the Chief of State the president represents our country here and in other lands He goes to funerals of important people He attends many ceremonies as a symbol of the United States The president gives awards to Americans who have done great things.

ECONOMIC LEADER The president works hard to see that there are enough good jobs for everyone. He tries to keep prices from going up and up

COMMANDER IN CHIEF The president is in charge of the army, navy, air force, marines and the coast guard. The president meets with the secretary of defense to make military decisions He gives the orders when there is a war. He makes sure our troops are well prepared and have everything they need in war
