36 Appointment & Recording All Clubs to appoint a Protection & Safety Officer All Clubs must ensure appropriate details of the appointment are recorded via the website i.e. Health & Safety AndProtection Update Club and Member details – Deadline 22nd May 2009

37 Risk Assessments Health and Safety within Rotary is not an option - it is an obligation It is not the sole responsibility of any one person Each Rotary Club most formally agree the Health & Safety Policy & this must be recorded annually in the minutes of the Club Council Risk assessments should be carried out and recorded before every Rotary event/ activity Risk assessments should be short and to the point - dealing with risk issues Assembly 2009

38 Insurance Every Rotarian and volunteer working on a Rotary event/ activity has insurance cover which provides a safety net Get out there and organise your events Assembly 2009

39 Immediate Action !! If someone is injured, Sutton Winson must be notified immediately Do not admit liability at any stage Do not acknowledge receipt of any correspondence If notification of legal proceeding is received against you, you must notify Sutton Winson immediately

40 Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection Each Rotary Club must formally agree the Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy & this must be recorded annually in the minutes of the Club Council Copy of Policy is available on the RIBI website
