Who Needs Water Lisa Starnes

 Content Area: Science   Grade Level: Kindergarten   Activity Summary: Read the power point about living and non- living things and answer questions related to this topic.  Learning Objective: After learning about living plants and animals, students will be able to answer questions about which objects are living things that require water to survive and which objects are non-living things that do not require water with 100% accuracy.  Grade Level Expectation: GLE Recognize that living things require water, food, and air.  State Performance Indicators: N/A  Credits: Tennessee Department of Education Curriculum Standards 

Any living thing requires water. Plants, animals, humans and any other object that is living. Who Needs Water?

 Water is very important for all living things. All people are made up of mostly water. Our bodies work better when we drink plenty of water each day. The same is true for all things that are living. Flowers, trees, animals, reptiles, fish, people and many other things require water to survive.  Non-living things do not require water because they not alive. Examples of non-living things would be computers, cell phones, televisions, paper and many more.

Dogs are living, therefore they require water in order to survive. GOOD JOB! Correct!

Water is such an important part of any living thing’s life. It is very important to make sure that you drink plenty of water each day to stay healthy because your body requires a lot of water. It is also important to water flowers and trees because they need water just like you!

 In this lesson, you learned what things require water and what things do not.  You were able to answer questions about living and non-living things. What you learned!
