At Brown Elementary the “Mission is Possible” Our mission is to work together as a family of learners to help each child reach his or her greatest potential. This includes all staff members, students, parents,and the community. Everyone is involved at our school.

What is our technology vision? To become a recognized school of excellence in the state of Georgia and nationally for the access and utilization of innovative technology and cutting edge strategies to ensure that students are prepared to compete globally Key stakeholders include teachers, principals, business partners, and parents.

Needs Assessment (SWOT) What are the strengths? What are the weaknesses? Are their any opportunities? Are their any threats?

Technology Initiative Description Instructional use centers around utilizing technology to support and facilitate learning. Students in grades K-5 are exposed to technology as educational resource instead of just an optional tool for engagement. Students are challenged to navigate and excel in a global society.

Goals and Rationale Ensure standards are aligned with GPS standards Provide teachers with 21 st century skills, knowledge, and methodologies for effectively integrating technology Teachers and students need to become more technology efficient.

Performance Objectives Improve student performance by utilizing technology Increase technology literacy for teachers and students Provide each student with an opportunity to use technology

Instructional Resource Requirements To support high levels of learning and efficient instructional management, the following are recommended: On demand access to computing devices Robust, consistent high speed network access(wired and wireless) to the school, district and global resources Interactive Whiteboards Access to generic (digital cameras) and discipline specific (digital microscopes) peripheral devices Networked black and white printer/scanner/fax capacity

Staff Development Teachers will attend rigorous training to equip them with the knowledge to technology efficient. Selected teachers will attend the 2010 ISTE conference in Denver, Colorado.
