Video Tapes 1.Glory$19.95 This 1989 Academy Award winning production will allow my students the chance to see the bravery displayed by the 54 th Massachusetts regiment the civil wars first black fighting regime. At the time of original release this film was rated R, however the producers now offer a classroom version that would be more appropriate for school use. 2. The Civil War$ This set of videocassettes will provide my students with a look at what has been widely acclaimed as the definitive documentary on Americans bloodiest and most tragic war. Each video displays diary entries, archival photographs, narration and other primary sources from the time. 3. Our Federal Government$ This video series provides a straightforward introduction to the three branches of government, emphasizing their cooperative roles in governing the nation. This video provided the viewer with unambiguous language, historic images and footage, and helpful graphics, the programs trace the history of each branch. Each video includes a teachers guide that entails review questions, activities, and quizzes.

Enrichment Books 1. History Speaks$53.00 This set of nine activity books will benefit my students thru thought provoking activities. These books challenge students to examine and interpret primary sources, decipher and draw political cartoons, and engage other higher level thinking skills. 2. Government on File$ This book can be used for study purposes or serve as reference to illustrate or explain major concepts. Sections include such topics as introduction to U.S. government, the three branches of government, citizenship, and the U.S. Constitution.

Computer Programs 1. The American Presidency$84.95 This CD-ROM would be a good starting point for research and report writing for all grade levels. Biographies of the presidents are drawn from three different encyclopedias. Students can also use hot links to jump directly from the CD to the World Wide Web and assess the home page of presidential libraries and birthplaces. 2. Landmark Documents in American History$ This pack of five CD-ROMS for Mac/Windows allows students access to more than 1300 primary source documents. The CD-ROM includes legislation, famous speeches, Supreme Court decisions, treaties, and presidential inaugural addresses.

Games and Simulations 1. The Game of Presidents of the United States$24.95 This game will test students knowledge of the Electoral College, State geography, and teach students as to why its better to campaign in California rather than Wyoming. 2. Presidential Decision Making $ Students assume the roles of historical figures, analyze problems, write position papers and debate issues, as they learn how and why major presidential decisions were made.

Teaching and Learning Supplemental Books 1. The Great American History Fact-Finder$19.00 each This reference book has over 200 alphabetical listings of the who, what, where, when, and why of American history. The books include appendix’s of maps, data tables, and historic documents Americans Who Shaped American History$7.95 each One-page capsules biographies with locator maps and key concepts emphasized in boldface. The book details the people, inventions, and events that continue to influence our nation.
