National Update….. Listening & positioning Higher level engagement Whole school improvement Teacher professional development Sharing the credit & integrity Ofsted report Integrity of the School Games

National Update….. Learn to walk away & reflection Commitment to moral purpose Ideas backed up with action Don’t drift from the mission

Skills Session COMMUNICATION – learn to speak in MANY languages PREPARATION – learn about them and think ‘as if you were them’ Health, Education and Sport Credibility ‘Buying’

Skills workshop…. ‘Getting buy in’ Working on your tables in 2 groups In order to get buy in to the School Games as an integral part of the Primary Sport Premium, how well are you preparing ? Identify someone you need to influence What is their priority ? health, education or sport ? What preparation do you need to do on them ? Their agenda ?

Skills Session LISTENING –focus on meaning rather than words POSITIONING – not what you can do for me but what I can do for you!! Understanding the buyer to ‘sell’ Using your evidence Conversion to action

Skills Session REALISM – progress is VERY slow – be patient and be consistent VALUING EVERYONE – maintaining respect! Partnership is not easy Peer support Leave no-one behind

Skills workshop…. ‘Peer support’ Working in 2s Identify a scenario where you are struggling to make headway with either a local organisation or professional in your local landscape. Is there anyone new/different who could help you ? What is your strategy if you can’t make progress ?

Skills Session SHARING THE CREDIT - what you can accomplish when you don’t mind who takes the credit INTEGRITY – personal gain is not a goal!! Market economy ‘The greater good’ Compromise

Skills workshop…. ‘Checking our intentions’ Working in two groups ‘The larger goal is the for all children to access high quality PE, competitive school sport and physical activity’ Are you ‘enabling’ that bigger picture through partnership working or are you mainly focused on your own outcomes? Where can you compromise ?

Skills session LEARN WHEN TO WALK AWAY – do not make things personal REFLECTION – Always analyse your performance and seek feedback Resilience – moral purpose Fixed capacity – prioritise Never stop learning

Skills workshop…. ‘Moral Purpose’ Reflecting on your own Listen carefully. Pick our words and messages that resonate with you or what we have discussed today. What will they mean for you personally and for you in your role going forward ?

Final reflections…… Time for quiet self reflection. Where will I make my unique contribution? Set personal goals and share with one colleague
