Are we really all that DIFFERENT?

How many races are there on this planet??? One and only one: Homo Sapiens The human race Mankind All 6.5 billion of us

We spend so much time… Talking about how different we are: –Ethnicity & Nationality –Rich vs. poor –Politics –Religion –Skin color –Etc., etc. ad nauseum

But, much more important, is how are we the same? Let’s forget about the differences for a while, and work on the things that are the same… Let’s start with the most important physical thing in all of our lives: Greetings From Earth!

#1 The Sun Without the sun, there would be no solar system. Without the light and heat of the sun, there would be no life on earth. The Sun is the primum mobile of all existence. Next in importance in our lives is:

#2 Air Air is our second most important life element. Without it, most human beings will not live longer than 3 to 5 minutes. And next…

#3 Water Depending on where you are; heat, cold, dryness, and so on, most people can go several to many days without water. But you must drink! Next in importance is:

#4 Food Some people can go days, weeks or even months without food. But we all must eat sometime. But not too much! Next on the list is:

#5 Shelter In a cave, or in a hut or a mansion, we all need a roof over our head. Do you know what’s next?

#6 Health If you are sick or injured, depending on how bad it is… Your life can really be messy and expensive. Good health is very important to all of us. Just ask your doctor. What do you think is next?

#7 Clothing… Again, depending on where you are and what the weather is like outside, we all need to cover our bodies sometimes. Next is:

#8 A way to sustain your life… This can be a –Hunter –Farmer –Soldier –Merchant –Professional –Whatever… And the next:

#8 Family & Friends (companionship) Everybody needs somebody to like, love, maybe even hate. Most of us are not hermits.

Up to now, we have seen what makes us alike. Now let’s look at that which makes us different…

Ethnicity & Nationality African Anglo Arabic Hispanic Jewish Oriental Polynesian And many more…

Socioeconomic Status (How much money do you have?) Super- Rich Rich Middle Class Poor Homeless

Politics The Good The Bad & The Alien…

Religion Buddhist Christian Hindu Islam Judaism New Age

Skin Color That a thing so thin (1/50”) as skin could cause so many problems…

A very important thing to remember: No matter what color you are on the outside, We all bleed red! We’re all the same on the INSIDE!

So where do we go from here? In 1962, America came very close to a full-scale nuclear war with the Soviet Union. We didn’t like their system of doing business and they didn’t like ours. We could well have destroyed all life on the earth.

But we’re still here… The name of our species is homo sapiens. In Latin, it means wise man. So let’s live up to our name and start acting wisely. It starts with you and me…
