As you enter into the classroom, line up in two lines down the center of the room, facing another person. With the person facing across from you, discuss the following topics: the health continuum and the seven lifestyle factors. Answer journal questions #1 and #2. Think about this: What are some preventive techniques we take everyday to help stop certain problems? QUIZ TOMORROW!

 Even if you know the definition of health education, you probably still wouldn’t know why we teach it.  It is not just about learning health facts.  My goal is to give the tools needed to achieve and maintain total well-being. It is about gaining health literacy.  Please get out your health literacy handout.  Health Literacy is an individual’s capacity to obtain, interpret, and understand basic health information and services and use such information and services in ways that promote his or her health and wellness. Health Literacy critical thinker and problem-solver responsible, productive citizen self-directed leaner effective communicator
