Energy Efficient Houses Presented by Kevin Le

My House Design

What I have done In the collaborative unit this year, we have been asked to design an energy efficient house. My house is stylish yet uses the least amount of energy possible. Inside the house there are all necessary entertainment and needs for a human, but uses mostly solar and wind energy.

My house is built from recycled wood, which has saved a lot of trees. My house includes 48 solar panels and three windmills, to maximise the use of renewable energy in the home.

It has a very large water tank to preserve as much water as possible. Energy saving fluorescent light-bulbs save energy, using the equivalent of a 100 watt light bulb in only watts. My house include no normal light bulbs, only energy saving ones, which also gives my house a bright colour.

My design includes a greenhouse that contains indigenous plants that have a high drought survivability and uses a minimum amount of water. My plants are watered with the recycled water from my water tank.

My house has water Saving Shower-Heads, which increases water pressure, but uses less water. It has double Glazed Windows, which can help to keep the house cool or warm. My design contains high insulation to keep the warmth in and helps to keep heating appliances to a minimum use.

I am very happy with this design and I think that saving energy is a very important thing to do in a household. The design could’ve turned out worse Like these....
